Precision Mechanical Machining

Versatility in Materials and Processes

FMV Trasmissioni Meccaniche performs a wide range of high-precision machining—both for in-house products and for customer-supplied mechanical components.

The team works across multiple materials: aluminum alloys, steel, cast iron and plastics, combining an advanced machine fleet with proven craftsmanship to ensure efficiency, repeatability and quality for pulley manufacturing, metal castings and tailor-made finished parts.

CNC Turning and Dedicated Tooling

A complete lineup of conventional and CNC lathes supports tight-tolerance production:

  • Vertical CNC lathes up to Ø 650 mm
  • Horizontal CNC lathes up to Ø 450 mm
  • CNC lathe with live tooling and Y-axis up to Ø 340 mm
  • Bar feeder with through-spindle up to Ø 52 mm

These systems enable precise, cost-effective machining—especially on aluminum alloys—while reducing cycle times.

Milling, Broaching and Slotting for Complex Geometries

FMV’s capabilities include:

  • Milling on 4-axis horizontal bi-pallet machining centers (travels X: 730, Y: 730, Z: 880 mm)
  • Broaching for standardized internal keyways and profiles
  • Slotting (shaping) to produce complex internal geometries and forms.

Sawing, Drilling and Finishing

Complementary machines ensure accurate cutting, drilling and finishing:

  • Horizontal and vertical band saws for precise cuts on steel, cast iron, aluminum and plastics
  • Precision drills for specific hole-making operations
  • Sandblasting cabinet for consistent surface finishing
  • Part marking for identification and customization.

Traditional Workshop for Special Operations

Alongside advanced CNC equipment, FMV maintains also traditional machine area with lathes, mills and drill-mills—ideal for special jobs, rapid tooling and bespoke adjustments. The blend of technology and hands-on know-how delivers flexibility and precision on every finished mechanical part.

Assembly and Functional Testing

To complete the production cycle, FMV offers a dedicated assembly and testing area for both internally produced and customer-supplied components. Each assembly undergoes functional verification to guarantee the final product meets required performance and quality standards.
