About us

FMV TRASMISSIONI MECCANICHE has been in the market since the 1960s. It manufactures castings and finished mechanical parts, ready for assembly, on specific customer request or in series. All according to UNI and DIN standards.

The Italian industrial reality is closely linked to its social fabric, with whose growth it has integrated and connected. In fact, there are many companies that, born as small local businesses by artisans, have then grown qualitatively and quantitatively to become the backbone of the economy. This is the case of FMV Trasmissioni Meccaniche, born in the 1960s as a foundry capable of making different types of aluminum sand castings but not specialized in any of them. In the 1970s, the growth of the construction sector forced FMV to undergo a parallel growth and the company evolved and specialized in the production of aluminum alloy groove pulleys, taking care not only of the metal casting but also of the entire manufacturing process, up to the finished product ready for assembly. Naturally, the technical growth of the company involves a natural process of dimensional growth and know-how and the directive component is enlarged with the entry first of one of the current owners, Sergio Valiani, who supports his father as a collaborator, then his wife Costanza. Conti undertakes the same path with great enthusiasm and dynamism.

Fonderia Metalli Valiani becomes the name of the new company, and is also part of other sectors such as agricultural machinery and electric motors. A few years later the company, now exclusively owned by the Valiani spouses, becomes the current FMV Trasmissioni Meccaniche. The old logo is combined with innovative choices and in the new production reality the factory no longer carries out only the casting but also the production and finishing of belt transmission components. Ability, creativity, and competence means that today FMV is the supplier of most of the manufacturers of construction and agricultural machinery, food machinery, electric motors, tire changers, pumps and a wide range of other mechanical machinery within the national territory and beyond.

FMV is directly present in the foreign markets of France, Spain, Holland, Belgium, the United Kingdom, Ireland, Sweden, Romania and South Africa, and indirectly the mechanical components produced by FMV are well distributed on all continents. Also thanks to this market and sector differentiation, the company has managed to increase its turnover even during the years of the recent economic crisis. FMV is also a founding member of the Consortium Italian Technology (https://consitaly.wordpress.com/il-consorzio/), based in Turin, with which it often participates in national and international fairs and events concerning mechanics and all related sectors. A story of work and of great passion and with that of FMV, an all-Italian company with a great desire to grow.

Technological innovation

As evidence of the great attention to production quality, the foundry sector has a robotic melting mechanism flanked by 18 casting machines and three melting furnaces. The workshop sector, on the other hand, operates through broaching machines, column drills and numerically controlled lathes that work according to a computer program managed by a personal computer. A robotized turning island is active, unique in the local production reality.

Since 2009, various machining centers have been added, followed by a measurement room with a DEA measuring table, durometer, roughness tester, balancer and other measuring instruments. In 2017, an area dedicated to the assembly and possible assembly of finished components was inaugurated. A strong commitment was also made to the computerization of the company to enhance the design and planning processes which, in addition to sophisticated software, have an internal network capable of managing all technical, qualitative and administrative information.
